It seems necessary to have a page dedicated to the rationale of the site so I'd like to take a minute to explain:

The nature of this site is a bit more complex than a simple "portfolio" site. While the work presented here is indeed my portfolio, the concept is somewhat outside that. The creative act, it seems, is impossible for me to separate from my normal day to day behavior. I may have a job but that job is more than pecuniary safety it is an influence on creation. I may have a wife but she is more than a partner--she drives the creation of art. etc. etc. etc. And it's that sort of thinking that has put a special importance on the process rather than the result.

So this site (in all of its failures) labeled "An experiment in completion" is an attempt to document more than just my visual portfolio. It is an attempt to document the thoughts, actions, memories, locations, and so forth that go into the creation of work. Perhaps vain, perhaps unimportant but I can't shake the feeling that its necessary for me to do. Even the phrase "experiment in completion" seems like simple vanity. Nothing can ever truly be complete and try as I might I can never seem to fully tell the tale or shed light on all corners of life. The quest will end unfinished but at least a few more caverns may have been explored so I suppose that's well enough.

Updates do come regular as I am regularly producing new work but the depths are updated far more sporadically as the process of transcribing the notes, scanning in the books, etc. take time.
